Biography

Kim Leslie is a visual artist who splits her time between Chemainus and Victoria, B.C. She completed a Certificate at the Vancouver Island School of Art (“VISA”) in 2013, and the Diploma of Fine Arts at VISA in 2017. Originally from Calgary, Alberta she moved to Victoria in 1989 to complete a law degree. After retiring from the practice of law she pursued her love of art.  Leslie’s current oil paintings on layered mylar and cheesecloth shrouded board and her installations combine aging women and deteriorating domestic interiors, and explore themes of aging, loss and memory.   She works in several media including acrylic paint, oil paint, pastel, collage and installation and is a studio member at Arc.Hive Studios, Victoria, B.C.
